High Fraud cover

High Fraud LP

9-track 12" vinyl LP
Released 2005 (UK, US and Japan only)

Completely unlike the current MJ13 sound, this release was recorded by me (Clancy) during 2003-04 with a little help from Adrian Lee (drums on "Tenting"). It's pretty much a love letter to psychedelic/desert rock recorded on a Powermac 8600/200 using ProTools Free (except "Multipolecation" which was made on an AKAI MPC2000, and "And Don't Talk Too Much", recorded at Music City in London).

The releases were all hand-stamped with the logo and track listing, and a lot of love went into the packaging :-)

It did OK in the UK as far as my own distribution efforts went - Rough Trade sold out of every copy within a month each time I stocked them. However, RT stopped taking on independent rock releases, or anything from people who walk in off the street for that matter (even professional techno distributors like my friend Pat) when they moved to Brick Lane, and they still owe me money, which don't seem to be forthcoming, so fuck them anyway. Japan and US? Fuck knows, I never saw a penny of that either. As far as I'm aware it's still listed in HMV Japan, so maybe it's not selling that well out there anyway.
